Most Democrats Have No Faith In Party Leaders: Poll

A recent national poll indicates that a majority of Democrats are unhappy with the performance of their party’s lawmakers in Congress.

As per a Quinnipiac University survey published on Wednesday, 53% of Democratic participants disapproved of the job performance of congressional Democrats, while only 41% expressed approval.

Among all voters surveyed from June 5 to June 8, merely 21% approved of how Democrats in Congress are fulfilling their responsibilities, with 70% expressing disapproval.

This 21% approval rating aligns with the figure from Quinnipiac’s February national poll, marking “an all-time low since Quinnipiac University first posed this question to registered voters in March 2009.”

In contrast, the survey reveals that 79% of Republican voters approve of the performance of congressional Republicans, while 13% disapprove, as reported by Fox News, referencing the survey’s findings.

Among all voters, 32% approved of the job performance of congressional Republicans, while just over 60% expressed disapproval.

Overall approval for Republicans in Congress has decreased by eight points since Quinnipiac’s February poll, with disapproval increasing by nine points during the same timeframe.

The Democratic Party has been experiencing political turmoil since the November elections, when Republicans regained control of the White House and the Senate while maintaining their slim majority in the House. Compounding the setback, Republicans have made gains with significant Democratic demographics, including black, Hispanic, and younger voters.

Since President Donald Trump’s return to office earlier this year, a more energized Democratic base has been urging party leaders to adopt a more assertive approach against the president’s extensive and contentious agenda during the initial months of his second term. Frustration is directed not only at Republicans but also at fellow Democrats perceived as too passive in their opposition.

This increasing discontent has led to a significant drop in the favorability ratings of the Democratic Party, which have fallen to unprecedented lows in various polls over the last few months.

Earlier this week, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich cautioned that the Democrats’ “very dangerous” rhetoric and actions could result in something “serious” directed at President Donald Trump.

In an interview on Fox News, Gingrich refuted a statement made by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., claiming that Republicans are “on the run,” cautioning that Democrats are filled with rage and providing “no solutions.”

Gingrich asserted that the left is employing extreme measures to resist Trump and to counter Elon Musk’s initiatives aimed at reducing government expenditure.

“Well, I believe that everything you presented earlier echoes what Lincoln articulated at Gettysburg when he stated that this is a test of whether this system, or any system conceived in liberty, can endure. There exists a hard-line faction that believes they possess the right to act violently, to deny the American populace the opportunity to choose their leaders, and to violate the law. The response to all of this is, quite frankly, you must incarcerate them. You must uphold the law,” Gingrich commenced.

“Period. Eventually, people will come to understand that one cannot wage war against the entire American populace. In that regard, I would contend that Elon Musk is merely one of the individuals serving the American people. He is a senior advisor to the President of the United States. Therefore, I believe that all of this is entirely unacceptable, as is the harassment of a Supreme Court justice or the vice president and his three-year-old,” Gingrich added.

“However, the reality is that the Democrats presently have no solutions. They are so infuriated that Trump is genuinely altering what a vast majority of Americans perceive as a corrupt system,” he continued. “Eighty-two percent of the American populace believes the system is corrupt. That is indeed perilous.
