In a shocking appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which ignited a firestorm on the internet, Kash Patel disclosed new information regarding Nancy Pelosi’s involvement in the notorious January 6th riots. During his discussion with Republican Senator Ted Cruz (TX), Patel asserted that Pelosi had obstructed Trump from deploying the National Guard on that pivotal day, suggesting her involvement in the controversy.
For context, this clip is taken from a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on January 30, 2025, concerning Kash Patel’s nomination for FBI Director. In this tense hearing, Patel encountered challenging inquiries regarding his criticisms of the FBI and his perspectives on the January 6 protests.
As previously reported, while addressing Sen. Cruz’s inquiries, Patel recounted his actions on January 6th. He remarked, “On that day, specifically responding to preparing to mobilize and deploy the National Guard once we got the lawful request from the local governing authority, which was the mayor of DC and the Speaker of the House.”
Adding further context, Patel clarified that preparations had been made days prior. He stated, “Senator, we were in the Oval Office on an unrelated national security matter with the president of the United States, the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and myself, and the President authorized up to 20,000 plus National Guardsmen and women to secure any security measures necessary related to the Capitol. Therefore, we were acting to the fullest extent of the law before the necessary request was received from a local governing authority.
Continuing to pose thought-provoking questions, Cruz sought information regarding the communications between the DOD and the Capitol Police. He queried, “During your tenure as Chief of Staff at DOD, how many times did DOD reach out to Capitol Police to inquire if they required assistance from the National Guard?”
Responding with assurance, Patel stated, “I believe those letters are thoroughly documented. There were multiple occasions, and on many of those occasions, those requests were denied.” He further affirmed that the sergeant at arms, who reports to Nancy Pelosi, declined any form of assistance.

In response to Patel’s disclosures, notable conservative figure Ryan Fournier tweeted, “WOAH! Kash Patel was just questioned about Nancy Pelosi’s actions on J6 by Ted Cruz! Things are heating up! ” Reflecting Fournier’s astonishment, numerous conservatives flocked to the comments section to commend the two Republicans for their courage and openness.
Speculating on Patel’s potential as FBI director, one commenter remarked, “The Democrats are terrified of Kash because he will unveil all of their corruption and hold them accountable.” Expanding on this sentiment, another user stated, “Kash will excel as FBI director. It’s hammer time.”
Concluding the comments, a social media user articulated how Patel’s assured responses demonstrate his suitability for the position. The user expressed, “I must admit, while I appreciated Trump’s appointments in theory, I was concerned there might be some validity to claims that many of them are unqualified. I have been pleasantly surprised at how incredibly competent they have all proven to be in these hearings.”
Patel’s statements resonate with remarks made by deputy FBI director Dan Bongino, who mentioned in a post on X, formerly Twitter, “Thank you for following this account and allowing us to keep you informed about our activities at your FBI. A few updates,” adding, “The Director and I will have most of our incoming reform teams established by next week. The hiring process can take some time, but we are nearing that finish line. This will assist us in reinforcing our reform agenda.”
Continuing with his update, he stated, “Shortly after being sworn in, the Director and I reviewed several cases of potential public corruption that, understandably, have attracted public interest. We decided to either re-open or allocate additional resources and investigative focus to these cases.”]} }}
Bongino stated, “The cases that will be reopened include the investigation into the DC pipe bombing, the discovery of cocaine at the previous administration’s White House, and the leak concerning the Supreme Court Dobbs case. I receive weekly briefings on these cases, and we are making headway. Should you possess any investigative tips regarding these issues that could aid us, please reach out to the FBI.”]} Assistant to=python codeimport json{
