In a post to his X account, Elon Musk revealed a potentially massive social security fraud operation.
He included an image of social security data, which indicated that there are millions of active social security numbers that are over 130 years old. The billionaire indicated that this should be impossible and is likely the result of widespread benefits fraud.
“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!
Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” announced Musk. This post went viral and amassed over 310,000 likes. In a follow-up post, the South African founder added additional context.
“Yes, there are FAR more “eligible” social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history,” he said. The online response was largely positive. “In decades, we haven’t created any internal auditing to catch this? Like a basic report that’s says hey this guy is most likely dead we should check?” one user replied. This response caught Elon’s attention, and he replied with a post indicating that watchdogs, such as the Government Accountability Office, had been sounding alarms for years.
“What’s super weird is that the @USGAO pointed out years ago that millions of dead people were tagged as alive by Social Security, but nothing was done!” he replied. Another user noted, “This is a massive fraud red flag. Over 20M “people” listed as 100+ years old in SS database? Time for a serious audit. Either we’ve got immortals gaming the system or some major data integrity issues.”
“The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE. No one person actually knows how it works. The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild,” Musk explained in another post. However many progressive activists took issue with Elon’s conclusion.
Will Stancil, whose meltdowns on X have made him infamous, tried to play down the significance of the data. ” It’s clear that Elon’s crack team of children ARE IN FACT CHILDREN, because only someone who had never really worked with data before would see a table like this and not think ‘I must be missing something about how this works’” he bitterly replied.
After Elon Musk replied with a laughing emoji, Stancil was incensed. ” Hey tubby, shouldn’t be you be firing federal workers or fathering your dozens of creepy test-tube babies rather than posting on Twitter?” he seethed. “Just so you know, no matter how rich you get, you’ll always be a pathetic, unfunny mediocrity, it’s baked into every cell in your body.”
