In her first few days at their home, Jenna’s mother-in-law began inviting guests over, turning the house into a social hub. Far from providing assistance, she contributed to the chaos. Then, addressing John, he said, “You need to step up as a husband and father. Jenna gave birth just five weeks ago, and she needs your support—not criticism.”

John, visibly ashamed, apologized to Jenna and vowed to do better.

In the days that followed, life began to improve. When Jenna’s mother-in-law visited, she genuinely helped around the house, and her stays were brief. John also became more present, actively participating in caring for their baby and helping with household tasks.
