A 32-year-old woman revealed the three main signs that she ignored before being diagnosed with cancer twice in her twenties.

Georgie Swallow is a British content creator that was given devastating news a number of times as a young adult.

Swallow admitted later on that she ignored some tell-tale signs when it came to her health, to the point where she was told bad news by the doctor when she did finally decide to get checked out.

Now, the Brit urges people to get checked out if they experience any of the main symptoms of cancer.

Speaking about her experience, the Londoner highlighted what to keep an eye out for.

Exhaustion

She admitted: “I was finding my feet with life and work and relationships and starting to feel like I was building my future. I was very active, social and always on the go.”

But this resulted in her body breaking down, as she also experienced other health issues.

Night sweats

“During this time I was losing weight, having night sweats, constantly exhausted and a never-ending stream of colds and flus but I just thought I was on the go too much and wearing myself out,” the 32-year-old explained.

Itchy legs

Probably the most irritating symptom, she said: “The most prominent symptom that took me to the doctors multiple times was my incredibly itchy legs.

“I would itch until I broke the skin which would keep me up all night. I went to the doctor and they thought it could be stress, allergies or urticaria but no cream or lifestyle change would make it go,” she concluded.

Opening up on how she found out about her condition, she said she needed the doctor telling her that she had stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma for her to slow down.

“After being off work for about two weeks with a serious bout of flu, I went into the office and whilst at my desk discovered a peach sized lump in the side of my neck,” she recalled.

The Brit admitted that she thought that nothing would be seriously wrong with her, ‘naively’.

With the worry that she was ‘wasting everyone’s time’ and making them worry for nothing, she explained that the symptoms of lymphoma in particular, are hard to spot.

“This is why lymphoma is diagnosed so late because you can brush the symptoms off so easily as other things.”

As a result of her condition, she would go into an early menopause, describing it like ‘being hit by a bus’, as having her fertility taken away before being able to have children ‘was difficult’.

She explained: “The menopause at any age can be difficult but at 28 I didn’t have anyone my age to talk to about it. None of my friends understood what I was going through, and as supportive as they were, it’s hard to comfort and relate to something you don’t understand.”

Swallow also spoke about the ’42 recognised symptoms of menopause’ and highlighted the importance of mental health, encouraging women to speak up and find out if they too are experiencing an early menopause.

We all know how tough it can be to work outside when the sun is blazing and the heat is relentless. If you’ve ever had to power through a scorching day on the road or at a construction site, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

When I was growing up, it wasn’t unusual to see road workers or construction workers shirtless on hot days. It might not be as common today, but I still occasionally see men working with sunburned shoulders and nothing on top.

Shianne Fox, an Australian tradeswoman who goes by the name “The Bikini Tradie” on social media, took to TikTok to vent her frustration after being told she couldn’t remove her shirt while working outside on a scorching 104°F (40°C) day.

”It’s a f—ing 40-degree day today and I’m the one who has to wear my shirt, while all the boys on-site don’t have to wear theirs,” she ranted and continued:

“It’s a double standard, it’s sexist, and I’m actually really over it. I just want to be topless like the boys—but no, I will ‘distract them’.”

Fox, who often works in a bikini top due to the intense heat, said she was simply asking for equal treatment, just like her male ”tradies” (”tradie” is Australian slang for a tradesperson, referring to skilled workers in fields like carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work)

A battle over gender equality or a step too far?

Fox, who has worked in male-dominated trades for over four years and typically wears a bikini while she’s completing tasks, said she’s comfortable in her own skin and believes there’s nothing inappropriate about her request.

Foxx argued that working topless shouldn’t be considered “distracting” since it’s a “natural thing.” However, critics pointed out that societal norms and workplace standards exist for a reason, and professionalism should take precedence over personal comfort.

“It was such a hot day. Obviously, when you work in the industry, lots of the boys have their tops off. I thought it was only fair if I could get mine off, too. I have no shame in getting my b–bs out.”

“I don’t think it should be ‘distracting’ because at the end of the day they’re just a natural thing. At the end of the day, we all have breasts. It’s just a natural thing. If you’re going to be childish and feel like they’re going to be distracting, then you should just grow up,” she told News.au.com.

Fox, who also shares content on an adult website, says she knows her stance is controversial but believes speaking out might encourage more women to join the trades.

“I thought if I put myself out there, maybe other women will want to join the industry,” she said.

Backlash from other women

Not all female tradies are standing with her. Many women in the industry feel that her social media presence — including videos of her working in a bikini top — is hurting their credibility.

One female tradeswoman commented:

“She does not speak for us female tradies.”

Another added:

“She makes real female tradies look bad.”

Fox’s video received thousands of comments, with many men agreeing with her stance.

“Yep, totally agree—spread the t-ts and f—k the boys,” one man wrote.

“I don’t think anyone would complain, miss,” another added.

But others weren’t convinced:

“Surely there’s an aircon in the kitchen,” one critic quipped.

The bigger picture

While Fox’s debate rages on, the reality is that women remain vastly underrepresented in blue-collar jobs.

A 2023 Deloitte survey revealed a staggering 12:1 ratio of men to women in trade work. With such a huge gender gap, Fox’s viral moment raises an important question: Should women be fighting for topless equality, or is the real battle about breaking into male-dominated industries in the first place?

Despite the gender imbalance in her field, Ms. Foxx said she enjoys working in male-dominated industries.

“A lot of people say you get catcalled, but it’s nothing like that at all,” she explained.

“From my experience, if you just go in there with your head held high and if you don’t let men have it over you.

“Stand your ground. They won’t do anything.”

Heather Unbehaun, accused of abducting her daughter from an Illinois suburb six years ago, has turned herself in, ending a high-profile case. Unbehaun is now in custody at the Kane County Adult Justice Center in Illinois, facing abduction charges without bail.

Days before her surrender, Kayla Unbehaun was found safe in North Carolina and reunited with her custodial father. Heather Unbehaun was arrested in North Carolina on a fugitive warrant from Illinois for kidnapping and child abduction. Initially held on a $250,000 bond, she was released after posting bail on Tuesday, according to Asheville Police Department spokesperson Samantha Booth.

Kayla was abducted on July 4, 2017, after a parade in South Elgin, Illinois. Heather told Kayla’s father, Ryan Iserka, they were going camping but never returned. A felony warrant was issued for Heather’s arrest.

The breakthrough came when someone in Asheville recognized Kayla from Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries” and alerted authorities.

Ryan Iserka thanked law enforcement and supporters for reuniting him with Kayla. Heather Unbehaun’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Walmart is closing 22 retail locations across the US this year, including four in Chicago, citing poor financial performance at each.

In the latest move, Walmart confirmed Monday that it plans to close a store in Richmond, Virginia, on July 28.

 

“We are grateful to the customers who have given us the privilege of serving them at our Brook Road Neighborhood Market location,” Walmart spokesperson Felicia McCranie said in an emailed statement to Insider.

“We look forward to serving them at our other stores in the surrounding communities including our Brook Road Supercenter just two miles away and on walmart.com.” McCranie added.

The recent closures follow a trend of Walmart closing a handful of stores across various states each year, with the company saying that the stores are “underperforming” or falling short of financial expectations. In the case of Chicago, the retailer revealed in April that the four targeted stores “lose tens of millions of dollars a year.”

RadarOnline report that friends of the singer are even fearing for his life following the shocking claims made by a former aide. The bombshell lawsuit in question was filed on Thursday, October 3 by a “Jane Roe” who claims to have worked for Brooks as a hairstylist and makeup artist.

The mystery woman’s suit detailed how she was employed by Brooks in 2017, but was hired to do hair and makeup for Trisha Yearwood – Brooks’ wife – in 1999.

Brooks quickly countersued the makeup artist for extortion and defamation, saying that she had threatened to go public with her story if he didn’t pay her millions of dollars.

Yet though the 62-year-old has continued to vehemently deny the claims leveled against him, sources close to the award-winning singer are said to have told RadarOnline that he is struggling.
